Welcome : About Us : History In 1957, and the early months of 1958, a group of individuals organized a Bible study fellowship which met weekly. Their desire was to see the kingdom of God expand by establishing a Baptist Church in the Cedar Falls area.

This desire became a reality the third Sunday of March 1958. The Cedar Heights School was rented, and the first service of the Cedar Heights Baptist Fellowship was conducted. Rev. Merwin Burman, missionary under Fellowship of Baptist for Home Missions, became the first pastor of their new fellowship.

As God continued to grow His ministry, Cedar Heights Baptist Fellowship incorporated and became Cedar Heights Baptist Church. On August 2, 1958, the church purchased two and one-half acres of property on Neola Street for the eventual construction of their own facilities. Construction began on the initial building on August 18, 1959. The lower level was completed and the first service was held there on March 13, 1960. Work continued on the upper level sanctuary and was completed on November 24, 1960.

The initial church building adequately provided for the needs of the church in those early years. However, as the church moved into the decade of the 70's, it began to outgrow its initial building. A new addition was completed in 1976 which included a new auditorium, fellowship hall, kitchen, classrooms and office wing.

Today the church continues to grow in the grace and the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through the proclamation of the Word of God and observance of His ordinances. Their biblical vision is that they would be a church that "desires to reflect the glory of God in all things." May God continue to receive all the glory for what He is doing in and through the people of Cedar Heights Baptist Church.
