Welcome : Newsletters : Cedar Heights Lifeline : Friday, June 25, 2010
Week's update from Heather Redig, serving in Africa:

Prayer requests:
1) One of our interns found out at the beginning of this week that his mom has breast cancer.  He has 2 younger siblings at home, and feels that he needs to go home and be with his family.  Please keep him and his family in your prayers...his name is Nate Shaeffer.  His mom has surgery tomorrow (Friday), and his flight back to the States leaves on Sunday evening.
2) Justin, one of our 6 weekers, left to go back home tonight.  Pray for safety in traveling and a good transition back to life in the States.  Also, he is getting married on July 24.
3) Kristin is still not feeling well.  Same illness, and still undiagnosed.  She is tired and weak and sleeps a lot.  Please pray for her physical, spiritual, and emotional health!
4) Tim and 3 of our summer interns are in Bongolo with a short term team this week.  Tim, Nate and the team come back on Wednesday, and Mariah and Brittany are staying an extra week and coming back to Bongolo with Lisa Nicky, one of the Bongolo nurses.
5) Spiritual, physical, and emotional health for all of us here are always a prayer request!

Praises:
1) I am so thankful for a wonderful family here!  The interns are wonderful, the mobile medical clinic team is amazing!  I am so thankful we serve a God who loves us and provides for us in every way!  I truly am so thankful for this wonderful family I get to work with!
2) I had a great birthday today!  I got to celebrate Gabonese style with the OSPAC (mobile clinic) team and interns today.  This morning we had a party after clinic including pizza, fruit, cake, presents...an outfit and beautiful dress, both of which they made me try on on top of my clothes :)...we laughed a ton, sang and had a great time!!!  Tonight I partied again with the interns...this one was supper, cake, games and a movie!
3) Although it may seem a small thing to some people, I am thankful for nice, cool weather lately!  The dry season is turning out to be a true blessing after the heat of the wet season!

Well, I thank you all again for keeping me in your prayers!  I have been feeling MUCH better since the last update I sent you!  You are all wonderful prayer warriors!

Love always in Christ Jesus our LORD
