River Hills Work Project - May 21st from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm.  Meet at 2700 Grand Blvd., Cedar Falls!

Matthew 25:40

40 And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’

On May 21, we will be doing grounds work at River Hills School, from 9am to 1pm.   River Hills School is a public sponsored special school for students with moderate, severe, and profound developmental disabilities. The school serves students from birth through age 21. We have adopted this school as our way to reach out in our community.  It is located at 2700 Grand Blvd., Cedar Falls - 1 block from our church.

Join us as we  show true religion, caring for those who cannot care for themselves, for the “least of these”.  It also speaks loudly that as a church, we are about the gospel of Jesus Christ, that we serve without expecting a return and expect no benefit to ourselves - we do it as a reflection of who God is and his heart of compassion for people.

Bring your rakes, carts, gloves, shovels, hedge trimmers and more  as we will be spreading mulch, dirt, planting grass seed, edging flower beds, trimming bushes, cutting down trees and raking.  There will be a job for all ages.  Come and be a blessing and be blessed!

Thank you all for praying for me.  I saw my doctor on Monday.  I am not progressing as I had hoped, and will need to stay bedridden for at least the next 3 weeks.  I am not to go anywhere or do anything at all that would put pressure on my knees and legs. There was even a discussion of putting me in skilled care in a nursing home for 3 weeks!  Thankfully my doctor feels I can stay in my own home.  After 3 weeks, we will see what progress I have made and see if I can begin to put weight on my knees.  It is possible that my body is not allowing the necessary bone reabsorption for healing.  If that is the case, we will have to explore other options in order to get me upright again.  I am grateful for all the meals, calls, cards and support that my church family has shown me.  I am trying not to get discouraged as this has turned into a much longer and more difficult time than originally anticipated.  I know God is good and that there are lessons for me and my family during this time.  I am humbled by the many kindnesses that have been shown to me and my family.  Thank you so much and please continue to pray for God's will in my healing.
