Hey Everyone,
I wanted to send out a quick email to let everyone know I'm looking for a few guys (5 more) to make a trip down to Joplin, MO with me in the next week or so. My intentions are to leave June 1st and come back by the 4th or 5th. This could change depending on what I hear from Samaritans Purse. At this point, I am the only one going. If you know of anyone that would be interested, please let me know!
This will be a great opportunity for anyone to live out their faith, and share with those in a great time of need. Samaritans Purse is all about sharing Gods love with those who have been struck by disaster by providing emergency supplies and care.
I am also looking to see if anyone would know someone that I could borrow a small covered trailer and a generator from.
Please pray for the people of Joplin, and that God would use the volunteers of Samaritans Purse to impact those suffering.

I am going to be packing the church cooler for these guys going to Joplin, MO. They will be leaving on June 1st so I would like to have the cooler packed by the day before (May 31) to give to Josh.I wondered if I could have some volunteers to make, bake, and or purchase some items to help me pack this cooler. There will be 15 guys going. This food will feed them on their trip down and during breaks while they are working.
1 dozen ham sandwiches
1 dozen turkey sandwiches
1 dozen roast beef sandwiches
1 case gaterade
2 cases water
2-3 dozen cookies
fruit - apples, grapes, pears
snacks - anything you think they guys would enjoy.

My Dad lives in Springfield which is about an hour from Joplin. He will be in town this weekend for the holiday. I would like to send some stuff down with him when he returns to donate to the tornado victims. If you know anyone that would like to donate please let them know. From the information I have the largest need at the moment is personal items. (specific list below) I was also thinking that some Bibles might be appreciated. They lost everything.
I realize its short notice but I would need to pick the stuff up by around noon on Saturday.
Specific Items (this is not the only things that are needed - its just a start): shampoo, conditioner and body wash, hairbrushes, razors, deodorant, laundry soap, chapstick, flashlights and batteries, cell phone chargers and pre-paid cellphones, baby powder, lotion, plasticware, D-batteries, napkins, pull-ups.
