7th Update Aaron O'Leary

Welcome : Newsletters : Cedar Heights Lifeline : 7th Update Aaron O'Leary
I'm so sorry that I have not been better about up-dates on Aaron.  We have been in ICU with no cell phone abilities and you don't want to leave the room to find a signal when your child is in ICU!  There has been a steady stream of doctors throughout our stay and you don't want to miss any of them.
Today Aaron feels SO much better!  He still has memory lapses, but his humor is coming back.  He has had extreme muscle stiffness from his body becoming alkalotic during the 3 episodes, but that is improving with physical therapy and medication.
It's now 10PM and I started this up-date at 9AM!  This evening they moved him out of ICU and into a regular room.  Today they repeated the MRI of his head and spine, specifically looking at blood flow patterns with dye contrast.  They also did an ultrasound of his kidneys because his blood pressure is way too high.  Last evening, when he was relaxed and happy because they brought him a laptop and he could connect with his friends (!) it was 168/98.  They are now testing for a possible adrenal gland problem. We really don't know what the plan is after that and today I was too tired to ask.
This morning, the account of Jesus and his disciples coming upon the blind man came to my mind.  They asked, "Who sinned?  This man or his parents?"  Jesus answered, "Neither, but that God could be glorified."  Aaron and I talked about the possibility that this could be the reason for his trial - simply that God could be glorified.  We have seen some amazing answers to prayer and we want to share the best one with you.  One of Aaron's friends, who he has been witnessing to, received Jesus as his Savior on Sunday!  We are overwhelmed that God has used our situation to help bring this young man to Him.
Thank you again for your continued prayers.  The staff has commented on our calm and we have been able to explain the grace of God and the peace that passes understanding.  Please pray that Aaron doesn't get discouraged.  He wants so badly to come home and is very weary of the endless tests.  He did comment, though, that even though he's not in school, he's passed every test he's taken!!
With gratefulness,
Dave and Debbie
