Welcome : Newsletters : Cedar Heights Lifeline : Monday, June 14, 2010 8:30 AM

We went in this morning to have Isaac's ear surgery. When they got in there, they were not able to perform the surgery because his ear canals were too small. The doctor said that they are the smallest ones he has ever seen (even smaller than a 6 mo. old baby). The tool used to put in the tubes (which is 2 x's smaller than the actual tubes) was not even able to go through his canals. So, they would like to send us to the UIHC to see a specialist down there. There is a lot of unknowns now, but they said he might have to have surgery to make his ear canals bigger since it might be affecting his hearing. They will setup an appt. & let us know. It normally takes awhile to get in to the U, so we aren't expecting to get in for like a month. Please continue to pray that he stays well & that the doctors would have wisdom on what to do.
We have an appt. to see the specialist at UIHC next Thursday the 17th @ 3:30pm.

Thanks!
Amanda Fisher

Eden's appt is June 25th in Iowa City. Cory and I are anxious to get her down there since she has been spitting up since she was born, and has recently seemed to get worse, which as you can imagine, is kind of startling to have a two year old spit up randomly. It is definitely effecting her everyday life...she is not getting very good rest, waking 2-5 times a night from the reflux, and she has a really croupy cough that is a result of the acid reflux. I know that Acid reflux is not a serious condition in its self, but the constant reflux and swallowing it down can cause erosion over time.  Please be in prayer for her and the potential of surgery.
