Welcome : Newsletters : Cedar Heights Lifeline : Wednesday, July 28, 2010 1:00 PM

My brother-in-law, Joe (sister’s husband), is being deployed this Sunday. Our family will be going to Des Moines Saturday evening to be a part of the Sending off ceremony on Sunday morning. Please pray for our family and especially my sister as we adjust to his absence. She is expecting a little girl in November and I know the reality of doing it by herself hasn’t set in. Also pray for God’s hand of protection on Joe as he will be stationed in Afghanistan.

An update on my brother & sister-in-law – Stephanie is feeling good and Ian has gained weight at every appointment (weekly) so they are giving her a few more weeks before they deliver the baby. She is scheduled to have a C-Section on Aug. 16 unless something were to come up sooner. We still are unsure as to what Ian may or may not have so we are continuing to pray for healing, a safe arrival, and the strength for us all to deal with what comes. Mitch and I have already made arrangements to go down the weekend before and stay through the delivery. As of now, all of our family except Joe will be able to be there for his birth! Praise God for allowing us this time with Justin, Steph, & Ian.

Your continued prayer for our family during this time is greatly needed and appreciated! We are so thankful to be part of a church body who covers each other in prayer. Thanks to everyone who has followed up. We will continue to keep you posted as we know more about our nephew.

Thanks and God Bless,

Megan Hines (& Family)

Prayer requests:
1) We have a team of 8 Hmongs coming in tomorrow night (Wednesday).  They will be here for about 10 days.  With them we will be putting the roof on the church building in Okalassee (a church plant outside the city).  We will also, as time allows, be working on the new guest house at CFTAC (the Alliance Bible college down the street from the center here).  Please pray for safety for the team and for God to work in great ways.
2) We have 4 interns leaving very early Saturday morning for Cameroon to work with one of our local pastors and a team he has.  They will be working with a church plant.  I think they will be pouring the foundation, but I'm not certain.  They will also be doing some mobile medical clinics there.  Please pray for their travels...they have a 14 hour drive (at least the roads are mostly paved and mostly straight).  Also pray for their safety.
3) The Straws (another missionary family here) are taking their two oldest kids (Joe and Megan) to Cameroon on Sunday for boarding school.  Please pray for their travels as well.  Also pray for Joe and Megan as they adjust to life at boarding school.  Also pray for Sam (the youngest) as he adjusts to life without his brother and sister, and for Steve and Alace (mom and dad).
4) As always, health (physical, emotional, and spiritual).  Thanks!  I think we're doing pretty good.
5) I have some thing I need to be in prayer about, but for the time being I'm going to just ask for prayer for this situation, and not give out details until I have more direction from God concerning this particular situation.  Thanks for understanding and for your prayers.  I'll let you know when I figure things out.

Praises:
1) Our new 'sisters' are adjusting well, and fitting in great!  I'm so thankful for such great family here!
2) As I stated above, we had a great trip to Bongolo last week, and returned safely!
3) God continues to reveal Himself in so many different ways.
4) I am continuously thankful for such great interns and the awesome family we've become!!!  I'm going to miss them so much when they go home!

Thank you all so much, again, for your prayers.  Oh, and again, please be in prayer that I can find an affordable plane ticket home.

Thanks again!!  Love you all!!!
