Welcome : Newsletters : Cedar Heights Lifeline : Thursday, August 5, 2010 10:30 AM

Church Family,

Thank you so much for your prayers over the last months and especially over the last few days! Ian Reed Smith was born Monday, August 2nd at

6:03 pm. He was taken via an emergency C-Section because my sister-in-law had started into labor and they were afraid to allow her to labor because of all the issues they thought he had. He was 5 lbs

14 oz and 19 inches long. After several days of testing and waiting for results we finally heard such amazing news today. Ian was born with club feet but all other abnormalities that they confirmed at his last ultrasound (which was last Wednesday) are not there! He has no hole in his heart, no vertebrae issues, and no kidney issues. Even his club feet are not as bad as they thought. The doctors are hoping to be able to correct them with only casts and braces instead of the planned multiple surgeries. All the doctors working with him are amazed and many of the hospital staff are calling him "their little miracle baby!". My brother and sister-in-law are so thankful for all those praying for them and are so glad that God chose to receive all the Glory for Ian's healing. He will be following up with a club feet specialist in St.Louis and while they are there they will do some genetic testing as they are still unsure of the possible dwarfism.

Right now they are treating him as a "normal" beautiful baby boy and he will hopefully be coming home from the hospital tomorrow. With the stress of the last few weeks and the whirlwind of his arrival we are all very relieved to have him here safely and ready to relax as a family with them all home. Please continue to pray as Ian will start his casts early next week in St. Louis and they will be setting up his genetic testing here soon. Please also pray for Stephanie's healing and that they would all be able to get much need rest this up coming week.

My family can not thank you enough for the hours of prayers that we could feel as the body of Christ lifted us up before our heavenly father! Ian has quite a story already and what a testament to God he will be as he is able to share his story of how God molded and shaped him into such a beautiful little baby boy and brought him here safely despite all that happened! Mitch and I feel so blessed to be part of such a praying church and we thank you for your prayers, concern, encouragement, and love over the past months.

Looking forward to being back with you all soon and celebrating God's goodness,

Megan Hines
